The John Agro Special Teams Award is presented to the CFL's Most Outstanding Special Teams player voted by his peers. The award is named in honour of John Agro, co-founder (in 1965) of the Canadian Football League Players' Association, with whom he also served as legal counsel. This 10K gold ring was presented to Larry Taylor as the CFL's 2009 Special Team Player. Size 8 with an approx weight of 25 grams, a CFL logo sits over the tableau, encompassed by zirconias, while the perimeter has "CFL Special Team Player" in raised, slanted letters. The right shank "2009" with a raised CFL logo, while the left has "Larry Taylor" and "29", along with a Montreal Alouettes emblem. The inner band is stamped "IGO 10K". The rings presents wonderfully with just honest wear from use, with numerous small scratches and surface wear covering the band and shanks.
Taylor signed with the Montreal Alouettes for the 2008 CFL season. He played with them for two years, winning the Grey Cup with the Alouettes in his second season with the team. In 2009, he was named the CFL's outstanding special teams player and an East Division All-Star, returning 89 punts for 788 total yards and two touchdowns, and 51 kickoffs for 1,059 total yards.
