Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This beautifully shot ice-level image timely captured shows Ken Wharram of the Chicago Black Hawks scoring the game-tying goal in the second period against Jacques Plante and the Montreal Canadiens, at Chicago Stadium, on March 3, 1963. The contest ended 2-2, with Wharram scoring both of the Black Hawks goals. At 8" x 10" and deemed "Authentic" Type 1 by PSA, both players are shown in motion, with Plante in one of his early masks, and a muted crowd in the background. The reverse has the date stamped along with a Chicago Tribune media stamp, with a taped handwritten caption that explains the details. The photo shows no issues, with a few light scratches to the PSA holder.
