Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
A six-time Stanley Cup champion in only eight seasons, Ken Dryden also played in five All-Star Games, with five Vezina Trophies won/shared. We have a stick used during the late-1970s, with this type of stick used by Dryden during the Stanley Cup championship seasons of 1977-78 and 1978-79. A Canadien model, with “K. Dryden” stamped over the upper shaft and “29” handwritten, the original white tape on the blade and white-over-black on the knob remains intact, with a few strands missing from the blade and also tape added at the toe, with additional strands missing beneath the knob, but the outline is visible. The striping accents also remain partially intact and are damaged. Game-wear is quite heavy with numerous puck marks and considerable wear to the blade including the taped section, with some wear to the underside and damage at the heel - a possibly indicator of use after Dryden. There are also small nicks to the reverse blade from Dryden hitting the stick against his blade tips - with this common on his gamers, as well as marks to the frontside paddle and red goal post paint transfer to the upper shaft. An LOA will accompany this classic Dryden gamer.
