Well recognized as an analyst for Hockey Night in Canada, Kelly Hrudey spent 15 seasons in the NHL, tending the nets of the Islanders, Kings and Sharks, with an appearance in the 1993 Stanley Cup finals. This Islanders jersey was worn by the Edmonton native during his first full season with the club in 1984-85, and it’s been photo-matched. Pedersons tagging is affixed to the collar with handwritten “30”, with a second Pedersons crest embroidered onto the back bottom hem. Styled with the iconic Long Island team crest in tri-colour tackle twill, the mesh V-neck has also been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with “Hrudey” across the nameplate in single twill. Custom-shortened sleeves have also been utilized. An LOA will accompany this desirable jersey.
A few marks are visible over the team crest and left sleeve’s numbers, with a few additional faint marks over the nameplate. There is also a team repair that borders the team crest. We should also note that the LOA erroneously lists this garment as a “1983-84” example, when it is actually from the 1984-85 NHL season. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-matches, Getty Images #83869278 has been matched to the big black mark on the left area of the team crest, and to the smaller mark on the edge of the team crest, while Getty Images #89080528 has also been matched to the small black mark on the left edge of the team crest.
