Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Planning a comeback for the 2025-26 NHL season at the time of this writing, superstar Jonathan Toews joined the Chicago Black Hawks in 2007-08 after being drafted 3rd overall by the club, and won the prestigious Calder Memorial Trophy. Named captain in just his second season - the youngest captain in NHL history after Sidney Crosby at the time - Toews led the Windy City club to a trio of Stanley Cup championships during his tenure which included winning the Conn Smythe in 2010. The seven-time NHL All-Star also won gold medals representing Team Canada internationally at the World Juniors, World Championships, Winter Olympics and World Cup of Hockey.
This highly desirable photo-matched Black Hawks captain's jersey was worn by Toews during the 2014-15 Stanley Cup championship season. A label with “56” sizing and handwritten “2” and “14-15” sits affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the classic and gorgeous partially chain-stitched Indian head team crest, “19” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in black-over-red tackle twill, with matching tomahawk crests over each shoulder. Game-wear consists of a few puck and stick marks as well as faint amounts of red paint transfer to the sleeves, with team repairs present over the front band (1) and left sleeve (2). There is also some light pilling to the interior and beneath the fight strap. Getty Image #460864098 (December 27, 2014) has been matched to; the dark mark to the left of the "9" of "19" on the right sleeve, the extended red thread near the bottom middle section of the captain's "C", and the extended black thread on the left side of the tomahawk crest on the right shoulder. The team patch numbered “CR5231” resides on the inside hem, with a matching LOA to accompany from the Black Hawks.
