Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Soon to celebrate a century in the NHL, the Chicago Black Hawks are one of the most storied clubs all-time, with their Indian head uniforms considered one of the most attractive in the NHL. Having won a total of six (6) Stanley Cup championships in their illustrious history and also laying claim to numerous Hockey Hall of Fame inductees, offered here is this lot of Blackhawks training camp/practice jerseys worn by Jonas Elofsson and Nikolai Khabibulin during the late-1990s/early-2000s and mid-to-late-2010s. Starting with the Elofsson jersey, a rookie camp offering that dates from the 1999-2000 season after he was traded to Chicago from Edmonton, the jersey has been recycled from the "Set 3" jerseys worn during the 1996-97 season based on the registered trademark embroidery next to the NHL shield logo and handwritten "3" behind the NHL shield. Sporting Nike (size 56), Center Ice and "Made in Canada" labels affixed to the collar with both the NHL shield and Nike Swoosh logos embroidered into the reverse hem, the front has been decorated with an absolutely gorgeous chain-stitched and multi-coloured Indian head team crest while the sleeves and verso have been accented with dual layer black-over-red tackle twill numerals. Having had "Elofsson" spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse, just light wear is observed throughout via a few scattered marks that are seen mostly over the sleeves. For the Khabibulin jersey, likely hailing from his short time with the club in 2013-14 to close out his NHL career, both "Goalie Style" and size "58" tagging is affixed to the inner collar while a Reebok jock tag displaying a size "58" designation is present over the front hem as well. Having had Reebok and NHL shield crests added over the reverse and front necklines respectively, the front is decorated with the classic Indian head team crest that features chain-stitched detailing throughout. Styled over the right breast with a sponsorship patch and accented over the verso with Khabibulin's number "39" in single layer white twill numbers, "Khabibulin" is spelt out above in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. The jersey shows just light use via a few visible dark marks.
