A product of the University of North Dakota in the NCAA who won National Championships in 1980 and 1982 and originally went undrafted, Jon Casey would be signed by his hometown Minnesota North Stars as a free agent in April of 1984 and play all but 100 of his 425 National Hockey League Games in the "Land of 10,000 Lakes". Helping the North Stars to a Stanley Cup Finals appearance in 1991 and also spending time in the crease of Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues, offered here is this North Stars jersey worn by Casey during the 1992-93 season of play, the final year of the North Stars' existence in Minnesota. A CCM made garment with both size "50" and Maska Air-Knit labels affixed to the inner collar, a trio of logos have been embroidered into the reverse hem including those of the NHL, CCM and North Stars. Decorated over the front with a North Stars team crest that was introduced the year this jersey hails from and features both textured and embroidered details, the patch celebrating the centennial anniversary of the Stanley Cup worn by teams throughout the season has been added over the right breast. Heavily customized to Casey's liking, both sleeves have been widened with added Ultrafil knit inserts but taken in near each cuff while the body itself has been taken in as well. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Casey's number "30" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals with "Casey" spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse, the jersey shows wear via some pilling and pulls around the front hem, some spot stains over the lower front and left sleeve, multiple dark stick marks through the numbers on the reverse, sweat staining around the collar, light pilling throughout the interior and an unrepaired small hole on the inside of the left sleeve. Also sporting a team tag sewn inside the reverse hem that reads "92-93-3", a Sport Registry barcode is heat pressed behind the "3" on the interior as well.
