Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

Iconic throughout the landscape of past Boston sporting heroes, Johnny Bucyk spent over two decades representing the Beantown hopefuls, with a pair of Stanley Cups won along with the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in both 1971 and 1974. Chief would conclude his career with over 500 career goals, with the majority scored while wearing a Bruins uniform. We have the puck Bucyk used to score his 300th career goal - which occurred on March 22nd, 1970 - along with a congratulatory letter from then-Bruins president Weston Adams Jr. A Converse Art Ross model with rubberized Bruins logo, heavily-toned tape remains in place wrapped along the side, with “300 as Bruin March 22/70” handwritten in ballpoint. The 8 ½” x 11” note on Bruins letterhead is addressed to Bucyk, with a short but friendly message, with a secretarial signature added of just “Westy”.
The puck exhibits obvious use, with wear to each logo, along with a few large cuts/grooves along an edge. There is also residue on the Converse logo side, with the added tape somewhat loose. The letter exhibits expected fold lines, with just light wear and some minor staining/discoloration to the reverse.
