The current all-time goal leader for the Boston Bruins, Johnny Bucyk also sits 2nd for all-time assists and points. This solid hardwood plaque holds three monumental milestone pucks that celebrate previous records, with each reached over a one-month period during the 1967-68 season, crushing three previously held Boston Bruins scoring records. Until that point, former Bruins great Milt Schmidt had held the records for most goals, assists and points as a Bruin. On Dec. 2, 1967, John Bucyk recorded goal number 230 to move ahead of Schmidt on the all-time list. Five days later he would shatter the points record in Boston Garden. And then on January 7, 1968, he tallied his 347th assist to complete the trio of record-breakers. The actual Original Six game pucks used to score each milestone are mounted here on this 10” x 15” display (they appear screwed on, as each puck is able to turn), each with a plate engraved with the details of the record-breaking goal. Mr. Bucyk’s signed LOA will accompany.
One small note, the info on the point-record plaque is incorrect. It should read 576th Point, not 477th point, as Schmidt finished his career with 575 points in a Bruins uniform. With just light expected wear to the pucks, the plaque itself exhibits a few minor blemishes, with a few scratches present on the affixed metal plates.
