Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Not often surfacing, we have a great collection of Summit Series items, with each having the added desirability of hailing from the personal collection of Team Canada alternate captain Jean Ratelle. Included are 5 different programs with a Sept. 30th example signed by 12 players including Dionne, Clarke, Gilbert and others, a score sheet from the Sept. 22nd game along with a number of documents/pamphlets from the 1972 hockey tour including a Canadian Sports Delegation schedule. Lastly, there is also a small box loaded with pins, mostly from Russia, with some loose change present as well. A signed LOA from Mr. Ratelle will accompany.
The programs include the aforementioned signed Sept 30th example (which has been signed by the previously mentioned players along with Ellis, Tallon, Henderson, Johnston, Redmond, Cashman, Park, Awrey and Dennis Hull), the regular edition for the four Canadian games, a Sept 16th/17th program for Canada vs Sweden, a Russian example and the Official Home TV Program. The itinerary documents include schedules along with general information for the Moscow tour, this is followed by an Air Canada USSR pamphlet, a pair of Moscow theatre tickets, a souvenir Moscow postcard folder with postcards, a brochure for the Johanneshov Sports Centre in Stockholm and more! The programs all survive in very good condition with light wear, with the regular Canadian version for the first four games rough with heavy creasing. Most of the accompanying documents and booklets all show just light wear from their former use, with expected fold lines present. The pin box has over 100 vintage pins/coins, mostly Russian, along with three different paper bills from Czechoslovakia.
