Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Originally drafted 117th overall by the Florida Panthers at the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Jaroslav Spacek would go on to play a total of 880 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of Florida, Chicago, Columbus, Edmonton, Buffalo, Montreal and Carolina. A two-time Olympic medalist with his native Czech Republic, including gold in 1998, Spacek was inducted into the Czech Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 2016. Offered here, we present this “1910-11” Montreal Canadiens centennial jersey worn by Spacek on November 10th, 2009 against the Calgary Flames. Made by Reebok and sporting a size “56” flag tag affixed to the inner collar, a handwritten number “1” for set 1 is found within the outline of the Reebok logo that adorns the back neckline. A classic tie-neck style garment that is accented at the collar with an NHL shield patch, the front of the jersey is decorated with Canadiens circa 1910-11 style team crest in tackle twill with embroidered details. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Spacek's number "6" in single layer white tackle twill numerals, "Spacek" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Displaying a Montreal centennial crest over the right shoulder, the jersey remains in beautiful condition with no discernible game-wear being present since it was worn in just a single contest. Sporting a Canadiens team tag numbered “A01932” sewn inside the rear hem, the jersey is accompanied by a matching LOA signed by former equipment manager Pierre Gervais. Additionally, a Canadiens hologram numbered "GW11230" is affixed to the bottom of the "6" on the reverse with a matching one also attached to the accompanying LOA.
