Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
One of the winningest goaltenders of the modern era, Henrik Lundqvist has secured more victories than any other European netminder in history and was extremely popular with fans in Manhattan. Lundqvist would earn the Vezina Trophy in 2012 while also being nominated for the coveted Hart Memorial Trophy. From the 2008-09 season where the star netminder made his 200th NHL appearance on October 15th, played in his first NHL All-Star game on January 25th, and became the first NHL goaltender in history to win 30+ games in his first four seasons with his victory on March 12th, we offer a photo-matched Rangers jersey worn by Lundqvist.
A “Goalie Style” label and sewn-down “58” size tag is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with “Rangers” placed diagonally across the chest in red-over-white, drop-shadow tackle twill letters, “30” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Lundqvist” across the affixed arching nameplate. The lower back of the jersey has been customized, with the bottom folded-in and sewn in place. Game-use includes puck marks over the front and sleeves, with small blue and red paint transfer marks to each sleeve. There is also pilling to the outer left cuff.
Worn from Oct 11, 2008, to Dec 20, 2008, according to the MeiGray Population Report, we have photo-matches from Oct 24, 2008 to Dec 20, 2008. Getty Image #83454379 (October 24, 2008 vs Columbus) has been matched to the black streak on the upper blue striping band, directly to the left of the elbow seam on the right sleeve, while Getty Image #83783145 (November 12, 2008 vs New Jersey) has been matched to the distinct dark mark directly to the left of the bottom of the second "R" of "RANGERS" on the front. Additionally, Getty Images #84070436 (December 16, 2008 vs Anaheim) and #84125532 (December 20, 2008 vs San Jose) have both been matched to a few marks on the front of the jersey.
Worn by a true Blueshirts' modern legend, Lundqvist holds a number of Rangers' franchise career records including most wins in the regular season and playoffs, most shutouts and most games played, as well as being the only goaltender in NHL history to record 30 wins in each of first seven seasons. A MeiGray patch numbered “F09158” sits over the inside hem, and according to their population report, the jersey is a "White Set 1" specimen. A MeiGray/Rangers LOA will accompany with the number matching the Meigray patch, along with a hardcopy photo of the Getty Image #84070436 photo-match.
