Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024

Widely considered as one of the top three players throughout the history of the fabled Montreal Canadiens along with Rocket Richard and Jean Beliveau, Guy Lafleur enjoyed tremendous success during his Habs tenure, capturing five Stanley Cup championships, three Art Ross Trophies, two Hart Memorials and the Conn Smythe. Enjoying a National Hockey League career that spanned a total of 1126 games and inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988, offered here is this stick used by Lafleur with the Habs during the early-1980s. A Sher-Wood P.M.P. 5030 model twig with "Lafleur G." stamped over the upper shaft, the stick retains Guy's original white tape job around the handle/knob while the blade tape has long since been removed. Void of any sort of date stamp over the underside of the lower shaft, the stick displays heavy use with numerous dark marks throughout the shaft and good wear to the underside of the blade, the stick was used for street hockey by someone after it left Lafleur's possession, surely contributing to the wear on the underside of the blade. Additionally, there is a possibility that the shaft was cracked/broken due to the tape that has been added to it. Overall a nice chance at a Lafleur gamer at a reasonable price for your collection.
