Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
A two-time Stanley Cup champion, Frank Finnigan made his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators in 1923-24, a season that also witnessed the Clarendon native help lead the Ottawa Montagnards to the Allan Cup semifinals. Originating from his personal collection, this framed original cabinet photo features Finnigan with the 1923-24 Ottawa Collegiate team, where he didn't play, but served as honourary vice president (Finnigan did suit up for the team in 1921-22 and 1922-23). With an image area of 10" x 15" and affixed to a larger mount, the team is pictured in composite full body poses including future NHLer Bill Touhey, with Finnigan pictured in a cameo image within the lower right. Produced by the Huber Studio of Ottawa, the photo is framed to full dimensions of approx 18" x 22", with some water staining to the mount and wear to the frame.
