Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Originally seeing pre-season and/or training camp use during the mid-to-late-1990s, this Montreal Canadiens jersey was used by an unknown prospect named “Foxford”. A Maska label with affixed rusty staple is sewn to the collar with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse hem, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 56. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, “5” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Howes” across the affixed nameplate in single blue twill. The jersey also shows evidence of a former shorter nameplate. Sporting great game-use with marks, burns and red paint transfer on each sleeve, there are also small slits over each elbow, with pilling to the interior beneath the fight strap. An LOA from the Montreal Canadiens will accompany.
