The Calder Memorial winner in 2001 as the NHL’s top rookie, netminder Evgeni Nabokov spent the majority of his career in San Jose, with later stints with the Islanders (2011-14) and Lightning (2014-15). The Russian netminder also represented his nation at the IIHF World Championships and Winter Olympics. Hailing from his sophomore season in the National Hockey League in which he posted a record of 37-24-5 with a 2.29 GAA and a .918 save percentage, offered here is this San Jose Sharks jersey worn by Nabokov during the 2002 Stanley Cup Playoffs on the road against both the Phoenix Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche. Made by Koho, both "Goalie Style" and size "58" labels are affixed to the inner collar while a team stock sticker has been stapled atop of both tags as well. Having had a Koho logo patch added over the reverse neckline and the NHL shield embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is decorated with a familiar Sharks team crest that displays with embroidered details throughout. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Nabokov's number "35" either stacked dual-layer or tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Nabokov" is spelt out in single layer tackle twill letters that have been placed in a gentle arch across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Displaying good game-wear throughout via puck marks over the front and both sleeves plus a small hole under the collar on the front, the sleeves and verso are dotted with red post and crossbar paint transfers as well while small spot stains exist over the front hem and left sleeve. With sweat staining observed around the collar and good pilling present on the interior the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #516786 (May 4th, 2002 vs Colorado - Western Conference Semi-Finals Game 2) to the puck mark/hole under the collar and additional puck marks through the bottom of the front crest and over the inside of the left sleeve. A Sharks COA will accompany the piece.
