Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Known to fans as “Geno,” Evgeni Malkin is a force of nature—one of the most dominant
Russian-born players to ever grace the ice. A three-time Stanley Cup champion with the
Pittsburgh Penguins, Malkin has carved out a Hall of Fame-worthy career, blending size and
skill in a way few can match. His 2009 Conn Smythe Trophy win and 2012 Hart Trophy as
league MVP are just a few of the milestones in a career defined by brilliance.
Here you’re looking at an Easton S19 game-used stick from the 2009-10 season, showing clear
signs of Malkin’s intense style of play. “GINO” and “71” are marked at the top of the shaft — a
personal touch from Malkin himself. The lower half of the shaft bears noticeable game wear,
with paint scuffs and slash marks revealing the physical battles this stick endured. Malkin’s
personal tape job remains intact and a crisp silver marker signature is beautifully placed at the
heel of the blade.
Adding to the stick’s significance, “1-24-10 vs. Philadelphia" is noted on the shaft, linking it to a
fierce rivalry game against the Flyers where Gino recorded an assist in a 2-1 victory. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
These sticks come from the personal collection of Lou Nolan, the legendary voice of the
Philadelphia Flyers. Nolan has been a fixture with the Flyers since the team’s inception in 1967,
starting as a press box assistant before becoming the team’s public address announcer in
1972—a role he’s held ever since. For over five decades, he has been calling plays for Flyers
hockey, his voice guiding us through some of the franchise’s most iconic moments. This of
course includes their back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 1974 and 1975. These sticks,
personally gifted to Nolan by some of the NHL’s biggest legends, reflect the relationships he’s
built over his storied career and the trust and admiration he’s earned within the NHL community
