Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Elected starting center on the Eastern Conference All-Stars, Philadelphia Flyers superstar Eric Lindros made his NHL All-Star Game debut in the 1994 midseason classic at Madison Square Garden. Lindros scored 11 minutes into the first period of the East’s 9-8 win over the Western Conference All-Stars on January 22, 1994. The NHL completely revamped their All-Star Game uniforms that year and this signed Lindros jersey has customized split-open sleeves and split-open underarms because the jerseys made for him were too small. This is evidenced by the two previous Lindros jerseys we sold from the 1994 ASG that had custom-lengthened sleeves, including one jersey from Eric’s personal collection. The sleeves added were about 6 to 8 inches long and were hastily affixed to the jerseys. This jersey shows some game wear and we believe it was worn by Lindros in at least a portion of the first period while the equipment staff worked on customizing his other jerseys because the included example and other jerseys prepared for him for the 1994 ASG were too tight. Lindros signed in bold black marker between his numbers on the back. Size 56 and CCM flag tags hang below the NHL Center Ice tagging in the back of the neck. The 1994 ASG patch is sewn on both shoulders and CCM and NHL logos are embroidered on the right rear tail. The Upper Deck hologram placed over the interior of the reverse hem denotes the jersey as being one of the examples made for Lindros for the 1994 NHL All-Star Game. There are some yellowish stains on the back of the jersey of unknown origin and what appears to be a pair of dried blood stains. This jersey was acquired from a McDonald's Canada executive through the NHL's All-Star Game relationship with the "Ronald McDonald House Charities".
