Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Earning his fourth and final William M. Jennings Trophy during his time with Dallas in 1999 - a season that also witnessed the Stars and HOFer capture a Stanley Cup championship, Ed Belfour would spend five seasons in Texas which included a trio of appearances at the NHL All-Star Game. From his time with the Stars in the early-2000s and hailing directly from his personal collection, offered here is this grouping of equipment used by Belfour that includes a left pad, a blocker, a pair of skates and a pair of pants. For the pad (left) and blocker, both Vaughn made "Legacy" model pieces that are in Dallas' familiar green, white and black colourway, each piece has "Vaughn" over the face of it as well as identifiers reading "Belfour" embroidered into either the side of backside in white embroidery. With each also having had Belfour's personal eagle logo embroidered into them as well, both pieces show use via things like puck marks and sweat staining while the blocker sports some fraying around the bottom of the face and bottom edge, with one area sporting a small cut. Additionally, the palm of the blocker shows good use but remains free from any holes while the pad is complete with all the straps/toe ties present and fully functional. The pad shows just light use overall. For the skates, Graf made "Goaler Pro" model boots void of their laces and insoles, both are covered on the exterior by a green coloured kevlar looking cowling. Stamped on the foot bed of the left skate with "9 1/2" in blue and having had "9.5 custom" penned to the foot bed of the right skate, both blade holders are void of their original steel and the rivets on the bottom of each are missing. Showing light use via various light scratches, scuffs and abrasions, rusting is present in areas as well along with salting around the eyelets. Additionally, the tongues show some sweat staining and pilling from use as well. Also including a batting glove style glove worn by Belfour that is blue and grey in colour and signed by him over the palm with a crisp blue marker ink signature that displays without issue, the lot is finished with a pair of pants worn by Eddie, Bauer made specimens with heavy use eveident through numerous marks as well as fraying, cuts, rips and tears. Having "Dallas" spelt out in gold letters down the side of each leg and flanked on either side by green stripes, some of the letters in "Dallas" on the left side are missing. Of note, Belfour's original white elastic suspenders are still attached and the top edge of the waist has been reinforced all the way around. An LOA signed by Belfour will accompany the lot.
