Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to strap on the pads of a HOF goaltender – or wear the blocker and glove of an NHL superstar?? You needn’t ponder any further, as we have a desirable collection of items used by Ed Belfour during his time in Toronto from 2002-06, and they can be yours! Included, we have a pair of Ed’s game-issued CCM pads along with a signed game-used CCM stick from circa 2005-06, CCM blocker and glove from 2002-03 – with the blocker photo-matched, Graf skate boots and signed inner glove. A near-complete ensemble from a prominent HOFer, a signed LOA from Ed Belfour will accompany.
The pads are CCM Gatekeeper models in Leafs colours with affixed NHL shield crests on each, with “Belfour” embroidered onto the right pad. Issued but never worn, some light toning has occurred along the top of each pad during storage, with a few small stains also present. The blocker and glove are also CCM models (but not worn together), with “Belfour” embroidered onto each, with thorough game-use visible on the pair with numerous puck marks present. The blocker has been photo-matched to Getty Image #1883529 from March 18th 2003. The stick feature’s “Ed Belfour” stamped onto the upper shaft, with the original tape over the blade, handle and knob in place. Good use is exhibited with puck marks across the blade along with marks and paint transfer to the paddle, with Ed adding a beautiful large blue sharpie signature across the blade. The skate boots show light wear, with each featuring an intact lace, while the inner glove exhibits light wear, with the glove signed in blue sharpie.
