Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Dating to “Eddie the Eagle’s” second season in “The Lone Star State” as a member of the Dallas Stars in which he posted a record of 35-15-9 in 61 games played, Belfour would best the likes of fellow HOFers Grant Fuhr, Patrick Roy and Dominik Hasek in the playoffs as Dallas would win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history. Awarded the William M. Jennings Trophy at the end of the year, offered here is this Team North America jersey worn by Belfour during the photo-shoot of the 1999 NHL All-Star Game that was hosted by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Made by CCM and sporting both size "58" and "Goalie Style" labels affixed to the inner collar, the emblems of the NHL, NHLPA and CCM have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a large NHL shield crest that displays with embroidered details, a Canadian flag patch has been added over the right breast. Accented with a Stars team crest atop the left shoulder and the all-important 1999 NHL All-Star Game event patch over the right shoulder, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Belfour's number "20" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Belfour" has been spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Signed by Belfour through the bottom of the "2" on the reverse with a black marker ink signature, the jersey has had an NHL inventory number tag reading "NHL003" sewn over the fight strap which when referenced with the list from MeiGray, shows that the jersey is a photo-shoot worn example. Remaining in overall excellent condition, the jersey shows no obvious signs of wear to make note of.
