Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
Darling dureen tie-neck jersey worn by left-winger Ted Irvine during the early Seventies while with the New York Rangers. The Rangers were one of the first franchises to place names above the back numbers on their uniforms and this one displays the two-tone, drop-shadow letters forming Ted's surname. Tagged in the lower hem by Gerry Cosby with an additional label indicating size 50. The two tone tackle twill number "27" can be found on the back and again on each upper sleeve, belonging to Irvine who spent five seasons with the Rangers beginning in 1969-70. This one sports the original lace in the neck and garter-style fight strap in the tail and is littered with at least 13 stitched team repairs and more wear including stick marks and areas of blue board paint transfer. We must also note that a black marker "Hi" appears in small print down on the lower rear hem.
