Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Covering over 2,300 miles while touring Europe during the early-1960s, the USAREUR (United States Army Europe) military hockey team trained in Bad Tolz, Germany, and battled extensive Olympic competition. This USAREUR jersey originates from the early-1960s and was worn by an unknown player. Sporting correct Wilson labeling for the period, affixed to the inside hem with “44” sizing, the durene tie-neck has “USAREUR” in white felt sewn to the chest, with a slightly detached felt federal eagle placed below. There are no numbers over the reverse, and no signs of former examples, so we are unsure if the jersey ever featured numbers. Nice wear is shown throughout, with a few of the felt letters showing minor loss, with some frayed threading to the collar and pilling to the interior.
