Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Inducted into to the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2011, Doug Gilmour would enjoy an NHL career that spanned 20 seasons with 7 different franchises. A Stanley Cup champion as a member of the Calgary Flames in 1989 who is best remembered for his time in the blue and white of the Toronto Maple Leafs, offered here is this lot consisting of charity game jerseys worn by Gilmour during the Juno Cup of 2008 in Calgary, Alberta and Baycrest Pro-Am Invitational of 2009 in Toronto, Ontario. Made by SP Apparel and Athletic Knit respectively with brand/size labeling affixed to the inner collar of each jersey that ranges from "XL" to "XXL" while on the jersey from the 2009 Baycrest Pro-Am, Athletic Knit logos have been sewn-on and heat-screened on over the left breast and reverse hem. Decorated over the front of each jersey with sewn on crests from their respective events/tournaments that each feature embroidered details throughout their entirety, each shirt also sports various event sponsorship patches, including from companies such as AM640 Radio, The Keg Steakhouse and Bar, Big Stick and Scotiabank. Each styled over the sleeves and verso with Doug's familiar number "93" in single layer tackle twill numerals that are either black or blue in colour, "Gilmour" is spelt out in single layer twill letters of matching colour across the affixed white twill nameplates at the top of the reverse on each jersey. Both void of fight straps, the Juno Cup jersey shows wear via a couple of minor stick marks and spot staining while the jersey from the Baycrest Pro-Am shows stick marks over the lower front and both sleeves plus a couple of small spot stains.
