Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Aptly nicknamed “The Dominator,” Dominik Hasek is widely regarded as one of the greatest
goaltenders in NHL history. Known for his unconventional and acrobatic style, Hasek
consistently frustrated opponents with impossible saves. Throughout his illustrious career, he
secured six Vezina Trophies as the league’s top goaltender, a record under the current voting
system. The 1997-98 season was particularly remarkable for Hasek. He not only clinched the
Vezina Trophy but also earned his second consecutive Hart Trophy as the NHL’s Most Valuable
Player, becoming the first goaltender to win the Hart multiple times. His stellar performance was
instrumental in leading the Buffalo Sabres to the Eastern Conference Finals that year.
This Bauer Reactor stick carries the marks of Dominik Hasek’s dominance during his legendary
1997-98 Vezina and Hart winning season. It shows clear signs of game use, with noticeable
wear and puck marks along the shaft, paddle and blade. His original tape jobs remains intact on the knob and blade and “HASEK” appears
stamped at the top of the shaft. The date “12-1-97” and the score of the game "1-1 tie" is marked in pen on the shaft, tying this stick
to a hard-fought 1-1 tie against the Flyers. Hasek’s bold signature, elegantly placed on the top of the paddle in black marker, remains crisp and remarkably well-preserved—a fitting tribute to one of the greatest to ever guard the crease. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
These sticks come from the personal collection of Lou Nolan, the legendary voice of the
Philadelphia Flyers. Nolan has been a fixture with the Flyers since the team’s inception in 1967,
starting as a press box assistant before becoming the team’s public address announcer in
1972—a role he’s held ever since. For over five decades, he has been calling plays for Flyers
hockey, his voice guiding us through some of the franchise’s most iconic moments. This of
course includes their back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 1974 and 1975. These sticks,
personally gifted to Nolan by some of the NHL’s biggest legends, reflect the relationships he’s
built over his storied career and the trust and admiration he’s earned within the NHL community.
