Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
A six-time Stanley Cup champion with a pair of Art Ross trophies under his belt, Dickie Moore set the record for most points in an NHL season with 96 in 1959, before being surpassed by Bobby Hull's 97 points in 1966 (Wayne Gretzky currently holds the record with 215 in 1986). Playing the majority of his career with the Montreal Canadiens, we have a signed stick used by the HOFer in the early-1960s, circa 1961 to 1963. A CCM Custom Pro Pattern Made model with "Moore" and "12" stamped to the upper shaft, the original black tape on the knob is intact, with the blade tape removed (outline visible). The stick exhibits good game-use with wear to the underside at the heel and a few cracks to the blade. The striping accent is now gone from the lower shaft, with wear visible to the shaft and graphics. There are two holes that were drilled to the shaft likely to mount the stick, with an additional pair of very small holes at the upper shaft. Moore later added a black marker signature at the heel. We have only handled a few Moore game-used sticks.
