Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Produced to advertise the company’s popular “Matched Sets” of boot and skate combos and featuring the championship hockey clubs of numerous leagues from the 1951-52 season including the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings, we have a large and scarce CCM tri-fold three-panel display. At approx 24” x 43” unfolded (the two side panels each measure 13 ½” x 20”), the Red Wings are featured colourized in the center panel along with the company’s Prolite skate, with the left panel having images of the Calder Trophy-winning Pittsburgh Hornets and Alexander Cup-winning Quebec Aces, while the right sports images of the Memorial Cup-winning Guelph Biltmores and Allan Cup-winning Fort Frances Canadians. Ready to dominate your hockey advertising collection, this is only the second example of this extreme rarity that we have ever handled.
Displaying much nicer that it’s technical grade, the images remain clean with some creasing and surface wear to the top portion along with a few edge tears, with some water damage visible along the base and over the “CCM” text on the right panel. Each panel also has minor separations along the folds, with staining and water damage to each reverse.
