Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
The last MLB player to bat over .400, Ted Williams set the bar for a superstar American athlete. A nineteen-time All-Star and two-time AL MVP, Williams served his country in both the Second World War and Korea, and later helped raise millions of dollars for cancer care and research. Inducted into the hallowed halls of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 1966, his first year on the ballot, offered here is this single-signed baseball autographed by The Splendid Splinter. A Rawlings Official AL Bobby Brown specimen that dates 1990 and 1992 based on the Costa Rica stamp appearing below the Rawlings logo on the top panel, Williams has signed over the sweet spot of the ball with a large blue ballpoint pen ink signature that displays well despite some light fading from age. Having had a JSA sticker numbered "Z15352" affixed to the ball and accompanied by a matching JSA LOA, the ball is found to be in overall excellent condition with light even toning throughout and strong stampings.
