This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Retiring after 16 seasons split between Ottawa and Toronto, King Clancy enjoyed just over a decade as an NHL referee beginning circa 1938. This lot includes 12 Referee Expense Sheets from the 1944-45 NHL season all signed by the King, along with 10 telegrams also from 1944-45, with these matching the expense sheets in pairs, as one telegram was sent to Clancy from NHL president Red Dutton regarding what upcoming games he wished Clancy to referee, while the second telegram of the pair was a confirmation from Clancy to Dutton. The expense sheets are all 4 1/2" x 7 1/2", with the date and opponents for each game. Clancy has signed each in black ink, with no issues for any of the autographs. The sheets all show minimal wear, with holes punched from prior binder insertion.
