Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Serving as the General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens just months after resigning from the rival Toronto Maple Leafs in 1946, Frank J. Selke would spend almost 2 decades with the Habs. Known for his creation of an extensive farm system that helped secure Jean Béliveau, Dickie Moore, Tom Johnson and Henri Richard for les Canadiens, Selke retired after the 1963-64 season and was enshrined in the HOF as a builder in 1960. This custom card features a gorgeous signature cut of the best defensive forward in the NHL trophy namesake. At the standard card size of 2 1/2" x 3 1/2", an image of Selke dominates the background, with his flawless dark ink signature attractively outlined and matted into the card. The reverse has his list of Stanley Cup wins with the Canadiens. The card overall shows no issues. Selke passed away in 1985.
