Trio of diamonds set in the Jets logo in raised gold on the tableau of this stunning 10-karat gold ring represent the Winnipeg Jets’ three WHA playoff titles, including the 1978-79 Jets six-game win against Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers in the rebel league’s last gasp. Weighing approximately 29 grams, this beautiful bauble was presented to Jets employee Dave Mann, whose name is engraved with those of the players on the 1978-79 Avco World Trophy. "WHA Champions" is spelled out around the bezel. The right shank reads: "Winnipeg Jets – Avco Cup – ‘76-‘78-'79 – WHA '72-'79 – NHL '79". The left shank has a raised miniature of the Avco Cup, 1979 and "Mann". "Jostens 10K" is stamped inside the size 11 1/2 band which is also engraved with "Wpg 7 - Edm 3," the score of the last WHA game ever played. Very well preserved with smoothing to the bezel and edges of the tableau and scratches to the band from proud wear. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
