Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Making his debut for the Montreal Canadiens in 1963-64 after being involved in a large trade that saw Jacques Plante go to the Rangers, replaced by Gump Worsley, Dave Balon made his mark with the Habs, finishing the season third in goals behind Jean Beliveau and Bobby Rousseau. Hailing from his personal collection, we have Balon's 1963-64 Montreal Canadiens blazer. In solid Canadiens' red with Anthony Guinta labels to the collar and inside right pocket, there is also a "Tony the Tailor" label inside the pocket with "Balon" and "Jan 13, 1964" handwritten, and a beautiful Quebec Coat of Arms over the left breast with "Montreal Canadiens" above and "National Hockey League" below. The buttons are all intact, with the blazer exhibiting just light wear. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
