Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Enjoying two different stints in The Big Apple, first from 1959-60 to 1962-63, and again from 1968-69 to 1971-72, four-time NHL All-Star Dave Balon led the Blueshirts in scoring in both 1969-70 and 1970-71 - with a career-high 36 goals in the latter season. Hailing from his personal collection, we have Balon's 1960s New York Rangers team jacket. A Gerry Cosby label with 44 sizing in affixed to the collar, with a tag affixed to the inner lapel with "D. Balon" chainstitched. There is a beautiful chenille Rangers crest over the left breast, with crossed American and Canadian flags over the left sleeve, and chenille NHL shield crest over the right. The jacket shows wear from use with the two bottom buttons missing, and a small hole to the back of the collar. This vintage beauty is ideal for display, with a photo of Balon wearing this jacket also included. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
