Ready to produce a massive display and ideal for the lovers of aviation, this lot includes a large collection of “En Avion Tintin” die-cast airplanes totaling 50, with each featuring a mountable plastic base and individual polyresin person, accompanied by a small matching and numbered hard cover book (books are numbered #1 to #50, with a duplicate of #34). Produced in 2014 and 2015, there are a total of 46 aircraft of varying styles, a trio of helicopters and a single rocket X-FLR6 which is missing its antenna, with models to include the G-AREI, VH-RCB, Syldair IFB, F-MAB, F-AMUN, C48, G-ARCR and many others. Each aircraft stands approx 4” in height when mounted to its base, with each thin booklet measuring approx 8” x 10”. Condition is outstanding, with just very light handling wear to the entire group. One of the most popular European comics of the 20th century and first appearing in Le Petit Vingtième (The Little Twentieth) in 1929, a youth supplement to the Belgian newspaper Le Vingtième Siècle, The Adventures of Tintin has been published in more than 70 languages with sales of more than 200 million copies, and has been adapted for radio, television, theatre and film. Following the exploits of youthful Belgian reporter and adventurer Tintin and his trusty canine companion Snowy, well-structured plots encompassing numerous themes enthralled readers, with both satire and cultural commentary exploited by creator Herge (Georges Remi). This collection of Tintin items includes a number of desirable keepsakes and collectibles, all of which feature the French language.
