According to Mr. Gillies, this would be the home jersey he wore during the entire 1981 Stanley Cup playoffs including the finals against the North Stars. Here is your chance to pick up a classic Islanders white mesh jersey from the team’s glory days. It goes without saying that this game-used treasure belonged to a Hall of Famer whose No. 9 was retired by the team. This photo-matched Clark Gillies sweater features a small blood stain on the front. Sandow is screened onto the back hem of the jersey, which exhibits nice game wear. There are no less than eight team repairs on the sleeves and a few small unrepaired holes on the front of the jersey, which features tackle twill numbering. A look inside reveals the original fight strap and great inside pilling. The jersey’s neck tag has been removed. It comes with Clark Gillies’ signed letter of authenticity. We also have a real nice photomatch on this jersey from photo taken againt the Black Hawks sometimes during the season.
