Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Hall of Fame center Stan Mikita holds Blackhawks team records for assists (926), points (1,467), and games played (1,394), and his 541 goals are second only to Bobby Hull’s 604. Stan’s late-1970s Blackhawks signed Northland game-used stick has “Mikita” stamped on both sides of the shaft, as well as “Gunzo’s” stamps that are partially covered by his long "corn dog" knob with vintage gauze tape wrap. Stan placed a big bold blue ballpoint autograph low on the front of the shaft down from the “6443” Registered Pattern Number stamp. Mikita played with no tape on this bare customized blade, which was shaved at the heel and on the bottom edge of the toe. His No. 21 is handwritten in red marker on the shaft.
There is a bit of separation of the wood on the bottom edge of the shaved blade towards the heel from game wear, as are the chips on the shaved bottom edge of the toe to the tip of the blade. This wear is from game use, not from road hockey. The blade displays black pucks marks on both sides, with some red goalpost paint transfer on the back side of the blade.
