Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

An absolute treat, dual-signed sticks with signatures from prominent clubs and players rarely surface, especially examples featuring Stanley Cup championship squads. We have exactly that for your collecting consideration, with a stick signed by both the 1958-59 Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers. A Northland Pro model, a stamp from supplier Gerry Cosby graces the topside of the shaft, with “Hebenton” and “4” handwritten in pencil. 19 Habs have signed one side of the shaft including deceased HOFers Beliveau, Plante, Harvey, Johnson, Moore, Geoffrion, Blake and The Rocket, with 19 Rangers signing the other, including deceased HOFers Worsley, Gadsby and Andy Bathgate. The signatures have all been executed in ballpoint, with “NY Rangers 58-59” handwritten over the lower portion of the shaft in black marker.
The stick itself exhibits just light handling/age wear, with most of the striping accents intact. The majority of the signatures display well, with the Plante and Pocket Rocket examples quite faded. Additional signers for the Habs include Richard, Backstrom, McDonald, Marshall, Goyette, Turner, Pronovost, Talbot, Cushenan, Langlois and one other. The additional Rangers signers include Sullivan, Hebenton, Henry, Prentice, Popein, Shack, Bartlett, Ciesla, Fontinato, Colwill, Hanna, Ingarfield, Cahan, coach Phil Watson and two others.
