Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2002-03 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead, with this section of impressive jerseys offered online with the familiar Classic Auction bidding rules applying.
A Stanley Cup winner with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009, Hal Gill spent 16 productive seasons in the NHL, and he’s currently the manager of player development for the Florida Panthers. This Canadiens alternate captain’s jersey was worn by the Concord native in 2011-12. Size tagging appears along the collar with handwritten “1”, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the most famous and recognizable team crest in hockey, the white V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gill” across the nameplate in single blue twill. Game-wear includes a few dark marks over the front and sleeves, with a small slit over the right elbow along with a few small holes over the left sleeve. The team patch numbered “A02701” sits on the inside hem, while a hologram affixed to the reverse number “5” matches the accompanying LOA from the Canadiens.
