Joining the Buffalo Sabres after the club advanced to the Stanley Cup finals in 1999, Doug Gilmour would spend a pair of seasons in upstate New York, helping to lead Buffalo to the playoffs in each season. We have a Sabres alternate captain’s jersey that was worn by Gilmour during the 2001 Stanley Cup playoffs, with this example photo-matched. A CCM label remains folded and sewn-down over the collar near a size “54” fly tag, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the back neckline and reverse bottom hem respectively. Sporting a gorgeous Sabres team crest with embroidered detailing, the white V-neck has been accented with slanted tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. The team patch is situated over the inside hem, with the jersey numbered “9151”. A signed LOA from Doug Gilmour will accompany.
Thorough use is exhibited on the desirable gamer, with numerous puck and stick marks throughout including over the top section of the team crest. Getty Image #572855 from May 10th 2001 (Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semi Finals) has been matched to half a dozen black marks over the exterior of the left sleeve.
