Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
The witness to over half a century of Red Wings games along with the city’s earlier namesakes, the Detroit Olympia hosted its first contest in 1927 when the visiting Senators from Ottawa battled the Detroit Cougars. These connected Detroit Olympia seats are completely original, resplendent in their crimson red finish. Standing just over 33” in height, one features “7” stenciled in white on the seat front and over the seat rest, the other “8”, with each having fully intact material to the seats with no rips or tears. There is some lose to the material with a few tears along the top of the “7” seat’s backing, with additional light wear throughout. With painted wooden arm rests and curved Art Deco metal sides, this Motown relic will please even the most discerning of collectors.
