Captained by Dit Clapper and led on the scoresheet by Bill Cowley, the 1936-37 Boston Bruins finished the regular season in 2nd place in their division for the second season in a row. Originally part of the Milt Schmidt collection and obtained directly from his family, we have a rare and highly desirable team-signed photo of the 1936-37 Boston Bruins, with this example most likely seeing original placement within Boston Garden. At roughly 14 ½” x 19 ½”, the sepia-toned image pictures the full squad lined-up on-ice, with all 17 players and management signing beneath their image, including GM Art Ross, along with fellow HOFers Thompson, Clapper, Cowley, Smith, Weiland, Cook, Mantha, Schmidt and Woody Dumart.
The remaining signers include Beattie, Getliffe, Sands, Goldsworthy, Hollett, Portland, Shields, Hitchman and trainer Win Green. The fountain pen signatures display especially well with separated placement, with just some light fading occurring, with the season “1936-37” handwritten along the bottom right. The photo itself exhibits a few large creases along with corner wear and toning, with a blemish along the bottom border.
