Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull teamed up on Team Canada 1974 with Summit Series stars Frank Mahovlich, Pat Stapleton and Paul Henderson on the squad fashioned by the best of the World Hockey Association in an eight-game rematch of the classic staged two years earlier between the NHL’s best and the Soviet Union national team. Members of Team Canada 1974 were presented with 10-karat gold and diamond rings to commemorate the series staged in Quebec City, Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver, with the U.S.S.R. hosting its four home games in Moscow. This lovely size 9 ring presented to an unknown member of Team Canada 1974 features the raised International Series logo with "74" and a substantial diamond on the tableau. The ring weighs approximately 10 grams and each brushed shank is decorated, the maple leaf on one side and the hammer and sickle on the other. The inner band is stamped “10K” along with the “BJM” manufacturer's marking. The band has with time formed a slightly oval shape from proud wear.
