Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
A core part of the Penguins team that won back-to-back Stanley Cups, Bryan Rust continued to
establish himself as a key contributor during the 2018-19 NHL season. This season marked a
turning point in his career, as he took a significant step in his production, posting what was then
a career-best in goals.
This jersey was worn by Rust during the 2018-19 NHL season and is fully authenticated with a
Pittsburgh Penguins team Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
Displaying an Adidas brand tag with “Size 56” and a “Made in Canada” designation, the inner
collar features the Adidas branding, while the team inventory patch is sewn into the hem, listing
Set W and serial number PH#W18192782, which matches the one listed on the accompanying
team COA.
Designed in the Penguins’ white away jersey style, this jersey features a stitched-on Penguins
team crest across the chest, reinforced fight strap, and single-layer black-over-white twill
numerals on the sleeves, while the number on the back is black over yellow. His last name,
“RUST,” is sewn in matching black lettering across the affixed nameplate, positioned at the top
of the back. The NHL shield crest is affixed to the collar, while the Adidas logo is heat-pressed
onto the back neckline.
The jersey exhibits nice game wear, with large puck and stick marks across the front, and several
smaller ones on the logo itself. A large stick mark is visible on the right arm, along with multiple
team repairs on the right sleeve, some featuring fabric backing. The left arm displays additional
small stick marks, with several team repairs and some remaining small holes in the fabric. Inside
the jersey, Penguins equipment manager Dana Heinze has signed in black marker ink over the
fight strap.
