Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
A second round draft pick of the New York Islanders in 1993, defenseman Brian McCabe spent his first three NHL seasons on Long Island, followed by action with five other clubs throughout his career including his final season back in The Big Apple with the New York Rangers. This signed stick was used by McCabe with the Isles circa 1997-98, and it is accompanied by a stick team-signed by the 2000-01 Rangers. The McCabe is a Koho Revolution model with "4" handwritten to the upper shaft and the original black tape over the blade and handle. Good game-use is shown with numerous marks and wear to the shaft, with additional wear to the taped handle and blade including a tear to the tape on the backside. McCabe has signed the heel section in black marker, adding "Best Wishes". The Rangers stick is a Sher-Wood model with Rangers graphics on one side, with 18 signing the one side including Mark Messier, Mike Richter, Theo Fleury, Kirk McLean, Vladimir Malakhov, Valeri Kamensky, Eric Lacroix, Sylvain Lefebvre, Tim Taylor, Kim Johnsson and others. The signatures display well, with the stick in like new condition.
