Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2003-04 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
The captain of the US Olympic Hockey Team at the 2018 Winter Games, Brian Gionta also led the Habs as skipper, from 2010-14. This Canadiens jersey was issued-to and prepared for the Rochester native’s use in 2010-11. A CCM size "52" label appears along the collar, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the most famous and recognizable team crest in hockey, the white V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gionta” across the nameplate in single blue twill. Game-issued, the jersey remains in gorgeous condition. The team patch numbered “A02195” sits on the inside hem, while a hologram affixed to the reverse number “1” matches the accompanying LOA from the Canadiens.
