Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
A pure goal-scorer with a knack for delivering in the biggest moments, Brett Hull’s one-timer was
one of the most lethal weapons in hockey. Born into hockey royalty, he quickly carved his own
path in the NHL, becoming one of only three players to ever record an 80-goal season (we’ll
leave you to guess the other two). A two-time Stanley Cup champion, Hull still ranks fifth on the
NHL’s all-time goals list. The 1992-93 season was part of an incredible five-year stretch where
he netted 50 goals or more each year, cementing his dominance of the 90s.
Feature on this page is an Easton Aluminum two-piece stick used by Hull himself. In excellent
condition with light game wear, the stick bears a few scuffs along the shaft. The original tape job
on the knob remains intact, while the blade is bare. Hull’s bold black marker signature presented
beautifully across the forehand of the blade with a message of “All the best,” added on.
The stick is notably dated “11/7/92” on the blade, directly linking it to a game where Hull scored
the opening goal in the first period against the Flyers. The Blues ultimately lost 4-2. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
These sticks come from the personal collection of Lou Nolan, the legendary voice of the
Philadelphia Flyers. Nolan has been a fixture with the Flyers since the team’s inception in 1967,
starting as a press box assistant before becoming the team’s public address announcer in
1972—a role he’s held ever since. For over five decades, he has been calling plays for Flyers
hockey, his voice guiding us through some of the franchise’s most iconic moments. This of
course includes their back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 1974 and 1975. These sticks,
personally gifted to Nolan by some of the NHL’s biggest legends, reflect the relationships he’s
built over his storied career and the trust and admiration he’s earned within the NHL community
