A product of the University of Wisconsin Badgers program that would play in an NCAA National Championship Game against the Boston College Eagles in 2010, Brendan Smith would be drafted 27th overall by the Detroit Red Wings at the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and has gone on to play nearly 700 games in his NHL career thus far with the likes of Detroit, New York, Carolina and New Jersey. Offered here, we present this Detroit Red Wings jersey worn by Smith on March 6th, 2014 when Nicklas Lidstrom's number "5" was raised to the rafters of Joe Louis Arena. Made by Reebok, a lone size "56" label is affixed to the inner collar while the crests of both the NHL and Reebok adorn the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with Detroit's famed "winged-wheel" team crest, the Nicklas Lidstrom Retirement Night crest utilized that night rests over the right breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Smith's number "2" in single layer white twill numerals, "Smith" has been spelt out in matching style letters that have been sewn on directly to the material of the jersey in at gentle arch at the top of the reverse. Hailing from the first set of sweater's worn that season, a Red Wings team patch denoting it as a "2013-2014 Authentic Game Jersey 1st Set" offering is sewn on inside the right hip while a Red Wings inventory barcode and "60801" is heat-pressed on above. Accompanied by a matching Red Wings COA, the jersey shows good game-wear via team-repairs to the lower front and left sleeve plus stick marks and board burns over the front, reverse and both sleeves also. With pilling present on the interior, the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #577729740 (March 6th, 2014 vs Colorado) to the stick marks in the white portion of the front hem.
