Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2003-04 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
A fifth round selection by Montreal in 2010, Brendan Gallagher has spent five seasons with the Canadiens, named as an alternate captain at the beginning of the 2015-16 NHL season. This Canadiens jersey was worn by the Edmonton native during the 2013-14 regular season, his second in the NHL. Size tagging is affixed to the collar including handwritten “1”, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring the famous partially-embroidered CH team crest, the “Home Set 1” V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gallagher” across the nameplate in single white twill. The team patch sits on the inside hem, while a hologram numbered “GU11161” has been affixed to the second reverse “1”, with a matching LOA from the Canadiens to accompany.
Game-wear includes just a few random marks present along with board burns, with small material-backed repairs just above each cuff.
