Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
The third oldest active team in the National Hockey League and the oldest in the United States of America, the Boston Bruins have been a staple of Beantown winters since the 1924-25 season and have won a total of six (6) Stanley Cups in their storied one hundred plus (100+) year history. Dubbed the "Big Bad Bruins" and enjoying a ten (10) year period in the 1970's that saw the B's win Lord Stanley's Cup in both 1970 and 1972 as well as play for it on another three occasions, offered here is this collection of nineteen (19) pucks signed by men that suited up for the famed black and gold during the decade of the 1970s. Signing their autographs over mostly souvenir model slugs made by InGlasCo that feature various styles and sizes of Bruins logos over their fronts and NHL logos on the reverse sides, all of the pucks included in the lot have been signed in either silver or gold marker ink while each also has been inscribed by the man that signed it with an inscription listing the Stanley Cup's they won while wearing Toronto's uniform during the 1960s. Additionally, a couple have also included inscriptions for their number and/or HHOF induction year as well. Including examples signed by HOFers Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Johnny Bucyk and Gerry Cheevers, also present are pucks signed by Hodge, Smith, Walton, Johnston, Cashman, Carleton, McKenzie, Marcotte, Lesuk, Stanfield, Smith, Sanderson, Adams and Bailey, while one puck included has been dual signed by the likes of Cheevers and Johnston. With the signatures all displaying beautifully for the most part (some show the odd light/small smudge that is worth mentioning for accuracy), many of the pucks, which themselves are found to be in good condition, are accompanied by COA's.
