Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Mention “The Goal” and hockey fans will immediately think of Bobby Orr flying through the air after scoring the Stanley Cup winner for the Boston Bruins in 1970. Arguably the most famous image in hockey history, we have a wonderful representation of that historic moment, Orr’s legendary overtime goal in Game 4 of the 1970 finals at Boston Garden that completed a four-game sweep of St. Louis and brought the Cup to Boston for the first time since 1941. Bobby placed a big bold blue marker autograph on this spectacular framed photo of “The Goal” that comes with a Great North Road COA. The 16x20 photo displays to 15” x 19” within a tasteful white matte mounted in a 20” x 24 ½ black frame. Also featured are two Orr signed jerseys, his No. 2 Oshawa Generals jersey and a Bruins No. 4 Orr jersey with size L tagging that Bobby signed twice in black marker, on the left breast and to the right of his No. 4 on the back, and Don Cherry signed in black marker on the right breast. Bobby placed a black marker signature below the felt “Oshawa Generals” script on the front of the gorgeous wool retro sweater with a CCM size L flag tag in the neck and twill No. 2 sewn on the back. A Bruins puck with Orr’s silver paint pen signature is included with a JSA Auction LOA accompanying for the two signed jerseys and the autographed puck.
